2026 Election Information
New in 2026: New Mexico now allows voters registered as Independent or Declined to State to participate in either the Democratic or Republican primaries.

Voter Registration
New Mexico allows Same Day Registration in person during Early Voting or on Election Day at any designated Voting Convenience Center.
Absentee Voting by Mail
Requesting an absentee ballot is the most flexible way to vote.
How to Request: The most efficient method is to request your ballot online.
Deadlines: The final day to request an absentee ballot is May 19. All ballots must be received by 7:00 PM on Election Day, June 2.
Returning Your Ballot:
Mail: Use the provided pre-paid return envelope.
Hand-Delivery: Drop off your ballot at the County Clerk’s office or any Voting Convenience Center starting May 16.
Note: If you still have your ballot after May 29, we strongly recommend hand-delivering it to ensure it arrives on time.
Early Voting In-Person
Early in-person voting starts May 5 at the Santa Fe County Clerk’s Office, Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

While these are the locations in House District 50, you can vote at any Voting Convenience Center throughout Santa Fe County and at Early Voting Locations throughout Sandoval County.
